Database Administrator - Stockholm
Just now we have a request from one of our Swedish clients for a Database Administrator.
As our client explained:
We are seeking a Database Administrator who will contribute to the optimisation, maintenance and development activities of our database servers.
Tasks
The consultant shall maintain the database servers, review the database setups and configurations and where possible find and propose areas for improvements. The consultant will create working procedures for the other team members. The consultant will also discuss with the development teams and the other administrators how possible design changes can solve problems in future releases. Weekly reports will be submitted to document the work done.
Competences and skills
- Excellent experience working as DBA in MSSQL2005/ 2008
- Excellent experience working with big databases (>100 GB)
- Excellent experience in code review, e.g. for TSQL stored procedures.
- Knowledge of HA (High Availability) and load balancing solutions
- Experience working with database design and working together with a development team
- Experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007
- Microsoft certifications on SQL Server are beneficial.
- Experience in writing technical documentation
- Experience with working in a multicultural environment
- Very good command of English oral and written
- Very good organisational skills: a planned approach to tasks and ability to prioritize
- Very good communication skills
- High level of service orientation
- Excellent team worker.
Duration: Until the 2013-01-31, with a good possibility of extension.
