We are seeking 2 x Backup Administrators to join a large project.
1. Consultant One:
- 6+ years of experience in IT
- Minimum of 5 years in Backup Administration/ Support
Responsibilities:
- Adhering to SLAs
- Mentoring / Training Team Members
- Handling tickets / requests
- Perform root cause analysis
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Defining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered to
- Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration
- Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA
- Understanding of Multi-geo support environment
- Responsible for building / maintaining a test environment
- Responsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenario
- Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
- Suggests new technologies and design changes
- Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members
- Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support
- Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level
- Testing / Auditing/processes as required from time to time
- Identify Skill gaps and plan for training / knowledge updating
Technical Requirements:
- Should be leading the overall backup environment
- Implementation and designing of Netbackup solution for end-end backup solution for client.
- Migration of all the database backups from different circles/location for the client.
- Implementation of all SAN based backups on STK SL 8500 ACS Library.
- Performance tuning and optimization for Netbackup and storage
- Working closely with Storage team for storage related issues.
- Technical Consultation.
- Should be able to mentor L1 and L2 Backup Admins
- Installation, configuration, administration and complete maintenance of Netbackup
- Migration of NetBackup Master/Media Servers from one platform to another.
- Designing and implementing and new solutions in SSO for better optimization and usage of resources for backup.
- Installation of different tape libraries of different vendors with different media servers, working knowledge of NetApp Filer. NetApp VTL, cloning and export of VTL tapes, PureDisk 6.6
- Responsible for reviewing the complete backup Infra. Plan & advise on new H/W Infra for backup to higher management for New Backup Infra.
- Providing Technical Consultation on NBU features like NDMP and FT client backups, SAN Media Server Backups, along with proper assessment technical documentation.
- Looking into capacity planning and management. Working on escalated issues by Backup Ops.
- SAN and NAS implementation of Netbackup e.g., NetApp, EMC-Clarion/Celera, SAN related troubleshooting.
- IP Network, WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and configuration (familiarity)
- Should be familiar with ITIL processes.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written)
- Good documentation skills
- Good working knowledge of MS OFFICE (Including MS Project and Visio)
- Should have a great customer handling skills
- Able to handle unforeseen situations
- High level of acceptance
Beneficial Other Skills/ Experience:
- Worked on Production systems
- Experience with Backup Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching
- Datacenter understanding
- Knowledge of Other Backup tools is a Plus
- Experience in training new team members
- Working Knowledge on Remedy or any other ticketing client
- Storage Management Techniques

2. Consultant Two:
- 3-6 years of experience in IT
- Minimum of 3 years in Backup Administration/ Support
Responsibilities:
- Adhering to SLAs
- Reporting to the Track Lead / Team Lead
- Helping team members in case of Issues/Technical Problems
- Handling tickets / requests
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Ensuring that the processes are adhered to
- Responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration
- Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA
- Responsible for building / maintaining a test environment
- Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
- Implementing new technologies and design changes
- Implementing Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support
- Applying patches/upgrades to maintain security level
Technical Requirements:
- Working knowledge on Veritas Netbackup Administration.
- IP Network, WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and configuration (familiarity).
- Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as using virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, data replication
- Unix and/ or Windows systems administration experience.
- NDMP experience and NetApp experience a plus.
- File System and Database Familiarity.
- Perform all chargeback estimation, provisioning, and documentation tasks in a timely manner.
- Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation.
- Installation, Configuration and Administration of Netbackup.
- Multiplexing, Multistreaming and Disk Staging to optimize the Backup process.
- Administration and Optimization of Database Agents of Netbackup on Exchange, SQL Servers.
- SAN and NAS implementation of Netbackup e.g., NetApp, EMC-Clarion/Celera.
-Disaster Recovery with Netbackup for Windows and UNIX platforms.
- Handle issues related to NetBackup Catalog databases, Storage Units, Policies.
- NDMP configuration with Netbackup on Unix and Windows platform.
