Assignment description
We are looking for a strong, experienced .NET DevOps Consultant to work collaboratively with our Application Development and Maintenance teams to deploy and operate our systems. The role includes automating and streamlining our operations and processes, building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring and operations and troubleshooting and resolving issues in our dev, test and production environments.

As a DevOps Consultant, you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of deployment automation for a variety of applications. Deployment automation should display a high degree of repeatability, traceability, and ease of use. You will also be responsible for sharing, advising, and educating others on sound design principles related to reliable operations and deployment of our software. You will work closely with members of the product, development, QA, and third party infrastructure support teams to facilitate top-notch delivery of our products on a regular cadence. You will help lead initiatives within the team that will help us make strides on our path to Continuous Delivery.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and modify our Continuous Integration/Delivery process and Tools Infrastructure (Octopus, TeamCity)
- Tools integration (Confluence/JIRA)
- Operational management and administration of internal and external web hosting environments
- Strategy, management, and administration of software platforms supporting digital marketing including EPiServer, Google Search Appliance, .NET Web API 2 microservices, Akamai, and integrations with external services exposed using SOAP
- Own strategy, implementation, and management of DevOps release management process and automation
- Collaborate with the Development team and Solutions Architect on strategy, roadmap, standards, and implementation of new capability
- Issue/problem resolution and root cause analysis of ‘in-scope’ services
- Identify gaps in various tool offerings
- Research, evaluate, and develop new tools to improve efficiency
- Deploy highly available, scalable, maintainable, monitored systems and services
- Manage the adoption of tooling and industry best practices among development teams
- Use scripting to automate maintenance responsibilities

Required skills, experience and qualifications:
- 5+ years of Overall technology industry experience with an emphasis on delivery, optimization, automation and continuous improvement, preferably in support of marketing
- Expertise in Windows Server and IIS system administration, choco scripting, PowerShell, Azure, and associated software ecosystems.
- Familiarity with Web Content Management Systems, Episerver experience is a big plus
- Understanding of DevOps concepts such as continuous integration/continuous deployment and related tools, including TeamCity and Octopus
- Experience with infrastructure automation, including Terraform, Puppet or Chef deployments is a big asset
- Broad Information Technology experience supporting high performing application delivery teams
- Experience with Git source control
- Strong automation scripting background in PowerShell
- Strong infrastructure background spanning creation & maintenance of environments; assessing usage & optimizing for cost and performance
- Working knowledge of networking principles and applications / technologies (e.g., TCP / UDP protocols, DNS, DHCP services)
- Expert knowledge of enterprise server-class hardware
- Knowledge of scripting/programming in Bash, Perl, Python or Ruby is a big asset. We use *nix as well as Windows, so common ground will give you more opportunities to help out
- Database administration experience (SQL Server preferred)
- Experience with Infrastructure-As-Code paradigm
- Strong background in C# .Net and EPiServer Administration
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Advocate for and firsthand experience of agile practices

Desirable skills, experience and qualifications:
- Knowledge of and hands on experience with Akamai
- Strong working understanding of C# and .NET more generally
- Package management platforms such as nuget
- An understanding of protocols such as OAuth2, SAML, and OpenId Connect.
- Icinga, CheckMK, Nagios, Zabbix, or other similar monitoring solutions
- Experience working with cloud services i.e. Amazon AWS, Google Cloud Engine, Azure or other cloud platforms
- NoSQL Database experience

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and have good communication skills
